MahaDevastanam
Privacy policy
Last updated 20 September 2026
MahaDevastanam connects devotees with temples and priests for pujas. This page says plainly what we collect, why we need it, who else sees it, and how to remove it.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address, phone number, and a profile photo if you add one.
- Details the puja needs: gothra, nakshatra, rashi and similar details you choose to enter, because priests use them when performing a puja in your name.
- Your bookings: which puja, at which temple, on what date, with which priest, and the price.
- For temples and priests: the temple's details, your experience, the pujas you offer, your availability, and the bookings you receive.
- Technical records: the address your device connects from and basic server logs, kept so we can keep the service secure and working.
We do not collect card or bank details in the app, and we do not use advertising or tracking services.
Why we hold it
- To let you book a puja and to let the temple and priest carry it out.
- To show you your bookings and let you cancel them.
- To keep your account secure, including locking sign-in after repeated wrong passwords.
- To contact you about a booking or about your account.
Who else sees it
- The temple and the priest you book with see your name, the details the puja needs (such as gothra and nakshatra), and the booking itself. They need this to perform the puja.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the service on servers in Mumbai, India.
- Nobody else. We do not sell your details, and we do not share them for advertising.
We may share information if the law requires it, for example a valid order from a court.
How long we keep it
We keep your account details until you delete your account. A record of pujas that were actually performed stays with the temple, because that is the temple's own record of its services, but it no longer carries your personal details once your account is gone.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete my account. You confirm with your password, and your account, your personal details and your bookings are removed. This cannot be undone. If you look after a temple, the temple's pujas and the bookings devotees made stay in place; your personal details are erased and your login stops working, and we will hand the temple over to whoever takes over from you.
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, you can ask us to delete it for you on our delete your account page.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in the app under Profile, and you can delete your account there at any time. Write to us if you would like a copy of what we hold about you, or if you want us to correct something you cannot change yourself.
Keeping it safe
The app and the website talk to our servers over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in a readable form. The database is not reachable from the internet, and administrative access is limited to the platform's owners and recorded.
Children
MahaDevastanam is meant for adults. An adult should make the booking, even when a puja is performed in a child's name.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and significant changes are announced in the app.
